Emergency Special Working irregularity Bournemouth Signaller made an urgent call to 1Z08 after the train had passed BC178 signal at danger by approximately half a mile. The Driver advised Bournemouth that the Basingstoke Dorset Coast Signaller had given them authority to pass BC178 at danger as part of the Emergency Special Working arrangements which had been implemented for a significant axle counter failure. The Basingstoke Signaller should not have done this and the Driver should not have accepted the authority from the incorrect Signaller. This incident is subject to further investigation. |
