Rowlands Castle
1P56 Bang (Object struck)
1P56 reported a bang under the train at the Buriton bank area on the up line and lost power to the train causing unit damage.
The MOM carried out a site visit and at Idsworth (up line 61 miles and 14 chains), found some loose arms that should have been attached to bomax matting.
The matting had been removed, but there were some metal bars which were attached at one end, but not the other within the four foot.
A Senior Technical Officer visited site and found some loose bolts on the RRAP which may have caused the incident. He tightened them securely and planned to carry out a track walk with lookout protection the following day.

Portsmouth and Southsea
1P71 Cat A SPAD HT59
1P71 had a Cat A SPAD at HT59 signal approaching the high level.
The signal had been at danger due to 1F99 in the platform ahead.
The TPWS intervened and applied the brake.
No allegation was made against signalling.
Early indications point toward the Driver losing concentration due to a number of activities the Driver is expected to focus on within a very short distance.

Hounslow
Staff Accident
Whist stepping over rails, an E&P Operative stubbed his foot and stumbled to the ground having twisted his ankle.
His ankle became very sore and swollen.
The Golden Hour was applied and the Injured Party visited the hospital the following day.
They were diagnosed was having soft tissue damage and were advised to rest for a few days to allow it to recover.
The Injured Party returned to work on nights on 02/04/17.
