| 04/06/2017 Eastleigh Pre-Assembly Depot |
Derailment DB Cargo reported that a Coalfish wagon became derailed between 4/6 Road over a set of hand points during a shunting movement. The PWay who patrol, but do not maintain the area reported that 3 or 4 sleepers had been replaced consecutively recently by an outside party, but had not been packed. There was also evidence of soil/sand being used rather than ballast. It was therefore believed that the area had been loose enough to allow the waggon to move causing the derailment. |
