Why do we need to brief?:
The law places the following requirements on Network Rail
- make sure that risks from vibration are controlled;
- provide information, instruction and training to employees on the risk and the actions being taken to control risk; and
- provide suitable health surveillance.
Who to brief:
All frontline SM need to brief their employees that use vibrating tools on a regular basis. These individuals are currently identified from certain competencies for vibration tools they hold on Sentinel. If an employee no longer use any of these competencies due to a change in their job role, it (the competency) needs to be removed from Sentinel and the subsequent requirement for briefing will be removed.

- Please complete the briefing presentation with your employees

- Once complete, date and sign the relevant briefing sheet and provide back to Competence Delivery Specialist.
