London Waterloo International
6G13 Hit detonator protection Item 6 Won 34
6G13 reported hitting a detonator after being authorised to enter WON 34 Item 6.
The weather conditions were very poor and the driver had turned his main light off to prevent the trackmen from being blinded.
The train had meant to wait for Possession Support Staff to give the Driver further instructions, but early indications show that the Driver may have misjudged where the detonators were positioned.
The Possession Support Staff were in a Position Of Safety and over 20 metres away when the detonator exploded.
This incident is subject to further investigation.

Sunningdale
Staff Accident
A member of Wimbledon Works Delivery staff reported that they thought that they had received an electric shock from a track circuit whilst assembling the stressing kit which caused pins and needles and numbness.
The following day after a hospital visit however; it was diagnosed as a trapped/pinched nerve causing the sensations.
Golden Hour was applied and there was no lost time.

Wallers Ash Tunnel
Train hit termination board causing two Staff accidents
Two members of Babcock staff were carrying out a survey on the track when they were struck by debris after a train struck a speed restriction sign in the 6 foot.
The first member of staff sustained a strike in the stomach and the other in the back of the neck.
No injury was sustained and no time off work was expected as a result of this accident.
Golden Hour applied.

Shalford Junction – Gomshall
Possession Irregularity Item 160
The ODM reported that a Trainee PICOP had given up item 160 with Guildford ASC without confirming that the protection had been lifted.
Within 60 seconds the Mentor PICOP noticed the error and the Signaller at Guildford was contacted again to protect the line until protection removal confirmed.Possession Staff had not been instructed to go lineside when the incident occurred.

Staff Accident
A Contract Welder was setting up a weld and when placing wedges, one of them flicked up and struck him in the right hand side of his face causing a cut and a lump.
No first aid or hospital visit was required, but would consider it if he needed to.
Golden Hour applied.
